Welcome to your first steps in Of Ash and Steel. The prologue serves as a tutorial but doesn't hold your hand. Here is a step-by-step guide to completing all tasks in the starting area.

1. Awakening at the Shore

Provisions in Danger

  • Quest Giver: Chump (near the boat)
  • Task: Kill 3 bugs on the path to the healer.
  • Walkthrough: Head towards the medical camp. The bugs are weak. Use this to practice your light attacks.

Break Time

  • Quest Giver: Squid (shoreline)
  • Task: Deliver brandy to Emmett.
  • Walkthrough: Loot the chest near Chump's boat to find the brandy. Take it to Emmett in the medical camp.

Fish Steak

  • Quest Giver: Fish (path to brandy)
  • Task: Find a "stick" (Chump's false leg).
  • Walkthrough: The "stick" is Chump's leg. Grab it and return to Fish for a sparring match. This is your combat tutorial.

What Use is a Cartographer

  • Quest Giver: Sirdar
  • Task: Speak to everyone.
  • Walkthrough: Talk to Sirdar, then Murray (Medical Camp), then Gellert (Shoreline). This introduces you to the lore and key characters.

2. Moving to Forgotten Reach

    • Pull Up Weeds: Clear the garden Map: Nerest's Garden.
    • Move The Barrels: Move 2 barrels to the backyard.
    • House Search: Find empty bottles inside Nerest's house.
