Legendary Weapons & Secret Bosses

Advanced players know that the best gear isn't bought—it's found in the darkest corners of the world. Here is your guide to the legendary arsenal of Of Ash and Steel.

Legendary Weapons

1. Pride of Tantares (Sword)

The blade of a fallen kingdom.

  • Type: Unique Two-Handed Sword
  • How to Get: Craftable only.
  • Requirement: 'Master Smith' skill (Crafting Tree) + 'Treasure of Tantares' (Quest Item).
  • Stats: Highest base damage in the game.

2. Tree Guardian's Hammer

Crushes armor like tin foil.

  • Location: Ruins/Cave west of the Cemetery.
  • Guardians: You must defeat an Alpha Woodwalker and several adults to enter.
  • Puzzle: Inside the ruins, solve the lever puzzle. Hint: The map solution is hidden in a bush right outside the entrance.
  • Drop: Looted from the Death Priest inside.

3. Steelfang (One-Handed Sword)

  • Location: Deserter's Camp, southwest of Ivarsby Village.
  • Target: Drop from the named Bandit Boss in the camp.
  • Tip: Good mid-game weapon for Dexterity builds.

4. Astartian Sun (Mace)

  • Location: Northernmost beach point. Swim further North to a small submerged ruin.
  • Target: Death Priest.
  • Note: Requires swimming skill and high oxygen capacity.

5. Irongrip (Axe)

  • Location: Swamp Region.
  • Target: Bandit Boss (Swamp variant).
  • Stats: High bleed chance.

Secret Bosses

Boss Galath & The Fangs of the Depth

The toughest humanoid fight in the game.

  • Location: Castle Inner Keep.
  • Path: Go right from Woodcutter Camp -> Forward -> Left at outskirts (9:00 direction) -> Castle Gate.
  • Entry: Kill Guard Verdom OR use 'Decks' skill to climb vines.
  • The Fight: Go down to the dungeon. Defeat Alf, then Galath ensues.
  • Reward: Fangs of the Depth (Legendary Daggers).

Alpha Initial Locations

These 'Alpha' beasts are stronger variants that respawn rarely.

  • Alpha Rover: Southwest of Outskirts Village.
  • Alpha Spider: Northeast Ice Region (Pre-Act 4 only!).
  • Alpha Hobster: Beach of Alpha and Omega.

Early Game Power Weapons

Don't have legendary stats yet? Grab these early powerhouses:

Meoran Rapier

  • Requirement: 15 Dexterity (or 10 to reach).
  • Location: Chapter 1 Area. Follow the dirt path, turn left at the first crossroad. Hidden in stone ruins.
  • Why it's good: Insane attack speed for early levels.

Two-Handed Combat Axe

  • Location: Near the Guard Tower. Right at the crossroad, across the gorge.
  • Why it's good: One-shots most Level 1-2 enemies.
